My name is Quinshel Hebert, and I’m from Jeanerette, Louisiana. I'm 17 years old, and I’m a member of the Jeanerette Mardi Gras Association and Zeta Phi Beta Archonettes youth auxiliary. The Jeanerette Mardi Gras Association is an organization that has a total of 10 girls who are all academically excelled, and who are all pursuing the Association's title of queen. In order to be crowned, one must raise money, show academic excellence, and show outstanding community service skills. I'm currently in the top 10% of my senior class in which I serve as the senior class president. I'm a member of Student's Against Drunk Driving, Governor's Program on Abstinence, Beta, Future Business Leaders of America, Chapel, Zeta Phi Beta Archonettes Youth Auxiliary, and the Upward Bound Program. I also devote a lot of time in my community. I volunteer with the Jeanerette City Beautification team. Every Saturday, we pick up trash and debris from the streets of our city. I also volunteer with our local elementary school. I'm also a Jeanerette Elementary Family Night Tutor. Every month, I help the teachers to tutor students in all subjects that they may have trouble with. The Zeta Phi Beta Archonettes Youth Auxiliary is a group of young ladies aged 13-19 who are non-mothers, plan to enroll in college, outstanding leaders of the community, and who show excellent academic records. As in the stated above organization, this also requires raising money, be a community leader, and have excellent grades. I have 2 out of the 3 requirements to become queen. I need help in raising the money. I sell ads, which will appear in books we are selling to help the girls raise money. The money collected from each girl will be put back into our community. For example, with the money, we will help numerous families who are in financial need. In November, we will hold a Thanksgiving drive in which we will adopt families and provide dinner, and any additional food needed. Any donations of any kind would be greatly appreciated. This is for a good cause, and I feel that my hard work will pay off if i'm crowned queen.
